Overview
The ASW software is developed and distributed by Cressida Associates, Inc. The ASW package will:
- Run on the Microsoft Windows NT Server BackOffice platform or the new Microsoft Small Business Server.
- Client computers will run the MS Windows 98 software, giving users access to the award winning suite of Microsoft productivity tools. While Windows NT Workstation 4 (Using SP4) is acceptable, we have experienced serious performance problems during development which may have been related to our hardware but are still worth note. Windows NT Workstation 4 is significantly more reliable under most circumstances.
- Use Visual Foxpro 6 for high performance forms processing and database access as well as the intuitive Microsoft Internet Explorer Browser technology for client side data entry and reports.
- Take advantage of the new Microsoft Active Desktop for quick access to system functions.
Server Requirements:
- Pentium II 300+
- 128mb Ram Minimum for NT Server Only (256mb Recommended for any Backoffice Product)
- 2 x 4gb Scsi Harddisk (+Extra 4gb to Mirror Data Drive)
- High speed SCSI Fast/Wide Controller
- 100mbs Network Card (100mbs HIGHLY Recommended) and Hub
- Microsoft Windows NT Server 4.0+ SP4 (Microsoft SBS may be used for <25 Users)
- Microsoft SQL Server 7+
- Microsoft IIS 4.0+
- Internet Explorer 5.0+
Client/Workstation Requirements
- Pentium 233+
- 17" Monitor Recommended
- 32mb Ram Minimum (64mb Recommended)
- 2gb Harddisk
- 800 x 600 Resolution Truecolor VGA Adapter (1024 x 768 Recommended). The client software WILL NOT RUN CORRECTLY on machines with 256 colors and/or resolutions less than 800 x 600.
- Windows NT Workstation Recommended (Windows 98 is ok)
- Internet Explorer 5.0+ with outlook express connected to the newsgroups at makesoftware.com.
